Take thoughts captive
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.
II Corinthians 10:3-5
What possible hope does a man have who is living his life behind a prison fence? He has the only hope that really matters – the promise of new life in Jesus Christ. II Corinthians 5:17 tells us that if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold, all things become new. This promise of new life is just as true for men in prison as it is for anyone else.

John 8:36 guarantees that if the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. This is our prayer and our purpose for discipling men in prison. That they will become free men in Christ on the inside and prepare to worship and serve Him on the outside.
